Who is 4VRADVL?
1) I am a proud ASU graduate and married a Sun Devil the day after we both graduated. We have three Sun Devils in training, but assure them we’ll support them wherever they go (as long as it isn’t UofA).
2) I’ve been a season ticket holder (including student tickets) for the past 21 years and have missed a total of 4 home games in that time (certainly not a record, but I’m proud of my support of ASU football, basketball and other sports).
3) I came up with the “handle” of 4VRADVL (Forever a Devil) for a personalized plate about 11 years ago. That plate now resides on my wife’s maroon minivan (but she still might flash a “fork ‘em Devils” if you honk at her!), while my gold Prius is decked out in Sun Devil decals.
4) I’m a regular visitor and poster on the Cactus Ranch and Devil’s Digest message boards.
5) I am a life member of the ASU Alumni Association, served a one-year term as the executive director of the Association and volunteer on ASUAA committees.
6) One of my two dogs is named Tillman. The other one wishes they could be named Tillman.
7) As is noted in the collections section, I do have a unique assortment of ASU field turf from big home game wins.
8) My three best memories of ASU football are:
- watching the ASU/Nebraska game from the 50 yd line (when it was still part of the student section) and rushing the field;
- driving over & watching the ‘97 Rose Bowl with tens of thousands of Devil fans (up until the last 100 seconds, that is) and
- winning a poster contest in ‘98 that put me on the field and sidelines for the ASU/Notre Dame game. If only the power hadn’t gone out...
